Throwback Thursday: Yours truly holding a kid’s drawing that was found in a school during a Marine patrol in the city of Nasiriyah, Iraq, April 2003. It depicts a burning American flag and two planes flying into buildings. Give you an idea of the things they were teaching kids over there at that time. My buddy, who found it during the patrol, was able to fit the picture in his backpack, keep it in tact during our whole deployment and bring it back to the states with him. To my knowledge he still has it.
